True quality of hand-woven silk -it's all in the review

In this day and age of mass communication and corporate domination, little ole Lilou has a hard time getting heard. We do a bit of blogging, a bit of tweeting, a bit of website work, some direct mail, a trade show here, talking to retailers there, contributing to forums.

We truly do believe in our hand-woven scarves, and as in life, any communication from Lilou is never less than truthful and honest. But in this day and age of mass revelations of questionable behaviour by businesses, the public are probably rightly cynical about statements like this:

Lilou scarves are made from the finest mulberry silk and we think our colourways and quality of workmanship knock spots off even the biggest brand offerings... (Ingrid V, Creative Director at Lilou)

It is true, but maybe this carries more weight?

Oh! My! God! There is absolutely no picture in the world that could give that scarf justice! It is absolutely amazing!

You know, when we were in London we went into Selfridges and Hermes. You know me, working with fabrics, I just HAD to touch all the scarves...Well. I have to tell you: I think that your scarf is even better. And besides, 200 GBP is a bargain compared to the 1000 that Hermes charged for their scarves!

And just the feeling of being wrapped around with love every day! Thanks again!(Eva-Karin K., Göteborg, Sweden)

Self promotion sure sounds a bit yawny and hollow in comparison to feedback from a person who has not just looked at our online store and Liked their favourite colourway, but has actually parted with their hard-earned money. And she knows fabric too, from the professional end.

If Lilou had written that, the skeptical alert might be flashing, or you maybe wouldn't even believe it. How can anything be better than Hermes?

It's all in the Lilou reviews. I guess you will just have to trust Lilou that the reviewers aren't a plant!

Hermes have reviews too. The Hermes Mayfair store

Do you leave feedback after making a purchase? Do you rely on reviews to help you with a buying decision?

While you are here, would you be good enough to help with some market research?

1 - Go to Lilou scarves page

2 - Click on the colour scarf you are drawn to.

3 - Click on the Like button next to the title.

That's it. Don't worry it isn't a secret Buy button, it is anonymous, but when we have enough responses, it will let Lilou know what colourways appeal.
